How much you willing to pay for rent. That will help with your location.

Welcome to the forum.

Please, give us an idea of your "wants and needs." Where will you work? How much do you want to spend? Apartment or house? Urban or suburban? Dogs or kids?

How much do you know about Augusta and surrounding areas? Have you ever been here?

Nice rental available off of Washington Road. 706-533-3204 was the number posted....check it out. Maybe you would like that.

Good luck in your search.

Did you already secure the job? If the pay is decent, look to Columbia county

We are transferring with our current job. Looking for something no more than 600 a month. Need somewhere safe since we'll be out of town three days a week for work.

Hey All, now I had a couple of questions about Augusta. First, I notice the bus line (public transportation) stops running like really early...is this town so small that everything pretty much shuts down by 8pm? Also, I did a search on spotcrime.com and I swear the entire Augusta area was filled with different amounts of crimes starting from Oct 2011 to today...is it that bad? I mean the crime?

No and no.. I went to the spotcrime website and the majority of those crimes were simple assaults and burglaries.. I typed in Atlanta, Savannah, Columbia, Greenville, Birmingham, Charlotte, etc and the whole area was filled with diffrent types of crimes.. I'm positive every other small to large city would looked the same.. The crime rate of Augusta is lower compared to most similar size cities..

Augusta isn't a large metropolitan area(556k in 2010 census), but several places are open past 8pm lol.. If you went downtown on the weekend 3-4am is when things turn into ghost town..

I think the bus service around Augusta stops between 8pm and 9pm...

So is Augusta a family kinda of city? I would love to visit and even move to Augusta, I want to relocate down south but not too far down. I visited Savannah and I wasn't too impressed...I also visited Atlanta but it's too busy for me. A slow, calm and family oriented city would be nice with nice southern folks to meet. What are your views on Augusta? If you don't mind me asking.... :-)
