Well Starbucks opened a roasting facility in metro Columbia that employs a similar amount of people a few years back so them opening a facility in the Augusta area isn't too much of a stretch.

Ok... I was wondering where Sandy Run, SC was located...

Yeah, it's just about 20 miles or so south of Columbia down I-26.

Yes and we lost a Pfizer plant a few years ago. Whats the average wage in Augusta?
I wish Augusta all the best but I advise any young person to get out of this town.

Yes we lost the Pfizer plant back in 2005, but do really want me to mention the things we've gained since then...

DSM purchased the old Pfizer property last year...
DSM Chemicals buys new Augusta property

I would advise young people to flock here if they want high paying jobs.. The $115 million Rockwood Plant, $172 million Starbucks plant, and $1 billion Bridgestone development in Aiken County all start construction this year... Then you have Plant Vogtle, expanding GHSU/ASU, SRS, NSA, AND companies similar to Rural Sourcing(100 IT jobs) who opened in 2011..

Moving somewhere else doesn't automatically ensure a good job or a good life. People need to take their individuals needs and desires into account when deciding where to live. There are plenty of young people in Augusta who make it work, and there are some who have made the decision to relocate elsewhere. That's just the nature of the beast.

Clearing the land for Starbucks | The Augusta Chronicle

The Starbucks plant construction in South Augusta was mentioned...... The Rockwood Plant wasn't mentioned, but the land clearing is underway in South Augusta also..
