Grovetown updating and remodeling there DT will force Augusta to tighten up. Augusta better watch their back because GT is coming. The good thing is our metro going to keep climbing.

There's no rival in the area who can be compared against Augusta.. To think Grovetown could attract Rural Sourcing, Sprint Food Metro Market, JB whites condo expansion, etc wouldn't be fair...

Downtown Aiken is growing, but still very small compared to Augusta.. Grovetown is competing against Edgefield, Hephzibah, Thomson, Waynesboro, and Graniteville... If Grovetown can jump ahead of these cities in terms of growth downtown then they're moving in the right direction.. Grovetown won't be catching up to places like North Augusta, and definitely not Aiken anytime soon... Those places are much bigger, have money around/in downtown, and Grovetown's income is north of I-20.

In do time they will surpass North Augusta and Aiken. I believe they going to benefit from Augusta mistakes and attract better white collar jobs. I don't think GT going to pass Augusta in money wise but in population they will. Before all as said in done probably thirty year from now GT will be like a small BUCKHEAD but not with tothe many skyline and Aug will be like a small Charlotte.

Lol! It's going to take Augusta 30 years to become a small Charlotte.

Blame it on the voters.

The distance from AUG DT is about the same distance from i20 as GT downtown. They are landing businesses in GT probably not on rural sourcing level yet but they will eventually
With the new University Hospital that along will create 300-400 good paying jobs. I can bet you GT will get a Target before South augusta.

Do you just say Grovetown will become a small Buckhead?? Grovetown will pass Augusta in population? I hope you mean the orginal city limits and I don't see that happening due to Grovetown being home to 12k residents..

I can see Grovetown improving, but definitely not becoming richer than places like North Augusta and Aiken, or even Evans and Martinez in it's own county..

Can you provide the source for University creating 300-400 jobs.. I thought they were purchasing 40 acres in Thomson, but only around 6 in Grovetown.. The University hospital development is coming to the Gateway, and several miles from DT Grovetown..

I've never have of any Chick Fil A, Target, and Ruby Tuesday rumors coming to Grovetown before.. They just got a Walmart to open back in the year 2009..
South Augusta could soon draw Target, Ruby Tuesdays, and Chick-Fil-A stores | NBC Augusta 26

I bet South Augusta will draw a major shopping center after the I-520 construction wraps up..

Really DT Grovetown is on the level of Hephzibah at the moment... Waynesboro, Thomson, and Edgefield are all ahead...

Grovetown Evans and Martinez combine will pass Richmond County in population. Look at Atlanta their population is not larger then it outside counties that's what make Atlanta thriving city. Augusta population is larger then their surrounding counties which.make Augusta a retirement city now but they going in the right direction. Augusta need their surrounding counties to grow like Atlanta surrounding counties in order for them not be just a retirement city.

Grovetown is apart of CC.

Yes they building it close to i-20 but it still money in the bank.

I've never have of any Chick Fil A, Target, and Ruby Tuesday rumors coming to Grovetown before.. They just got a Walmart to open back in the year 2009..

Why you have to hear anything in order for Target to come to Grovetown. Just like the Starbuck deal that coming to Augusta you didn't know anything about until the news broke.

I don't think so because a major shopping center will already be there before the construction ever ever started.

Not over night but give it 5 yrs then compare GT to those other cities you named. When the last time you been to Waynesboro and Thomson those cities have to much old money running the show will not let anything come other then a Burger King. Waynesboro Wal-mart is not even a super wal-mart. What do Thomson have on Grovetown in the next five years.
