If they can have bingo in SC, we have a casino downtown. If that law pass Augusta will get a casino.

Amlovingit- What are you basing Augusta getting a casino on? Common sense would seem to say the obvious first two choices for anyone wanting to build a casino in Georgia would be: 1) Atlanta 2) Savannah and then most likely 3) Augusta.

That's just smart business, no poker face needed.

I know Atlanta and Savannah will be the first because they attract more tourist dollar then Augusta. I just think a private sector will decide to bring one in Augusta. If you put all the casinos in ATL and Sav the owner going to have to complete with one another but in Augusta there will not be any competition. If they don't build it downtown they can have it build by the VAR.

You never know... but I just don't see anyone putting up millions and millions of dollars if there are casinos 2 hours West and 2 hours South.

Augusta should focus on horse and dog racing not casinos. Lets be unique not follow the crowd here.

You're correct. But a casino brings height to where ever it is put and night life. Once the race is over, there is no reason for anyone to stick around late into the night. A casino can transform our Downtown or VAR and spur other developments quicker than a horsetrack or dogtrack that probably would be built outside the CBD. No one here wants Augusta to miss out on.......

Be real
Races don't last forever
tragic
Besides I'm from Atlanta so I know what I'm talking about
Augusta needs that casino
Or you can just say bye bye to being a big city
Atlanta was just lucky
They held the Olympics in 1996 giving them lots of money
That's what helped them grow
So if I were them Id Accept that casino
