The Starbucks plant underway will have some company, and I think we can Georgia Power(11 acres at the Corporate Park) to the list of 2013 construction projects...

I'm glad to announce my list of major improvements in South Augusta is declining... The Augusta Corporate Park already had Starbucks, and now Georgia Power will occupy 11 acres.. The future Augusta Regional industrial park is coming, and the $7 million General Perry Smith Pkwy is underway... Only three left out of the five total... 1. Target shopping center preferably at I-520/Peach Orchard/Windsor Spring, sports complex at Regency Mall, and mixed-use(retail, commercial, residential) on Peach Orchard btw Willis Foreman/Highway 88 in Hephzibah or along Mike Padgett/Hwy 56 btw Goshen/Brown rd....

Development Authority continues work on master plan for Augusta Corporate Park | The Augusta Chronicle

The Development Authority of Richmond County is seeking input for its master plan for Augusta Corporate Park. The authority issued a request for proposals from engineering firms to determine the best use of the land, which measures 1,800 acres, said Walter Sprouse, the authority’s executive director, at Thursday’s board meeting. Plans to extend the road through the park, build water and sewer lines to handle the water supply and wastewater at the site, and develop utilities are needed, he said.

Starbucks Coffee Co. is the first tenant at Augusta Corporate Park, which is off Mike Padgett Highway. The company will spend about $172 million building a plant to make ready-to-drink beverages, VIA Ready Brew and components for its Frappuccino drinks. The plant should open in 2014. Georgia Power has identified an 11-acre space it will occupy at the site, which was donated to the authority in 1993.

I meant to say only four left out of the six total... A developer had a waterfront development planned for South Augusta, and some type of similar project would be great..

It's a Walmart neighborhood market, and it's located in the Medical District... The construction is also taking over the property on Fenwick street, and not the terminal on Broad street... Should begin early next year, but may start later on this year...

The hotel is at the intersection of I-520 and I-20 on a hill overlooking the Augusta Exchange,an 87-acre regional power center with extensive shopping and restaurant facilities. The Augusta mall is one-quarter of a mile away and the Augusta National Golf Course is just three miles away.” The 123-suite,four-story,upper mid-tier hotel brand brings a hip and humble design to its target audience: the savvy and sophisticated yet value-conscious extended-stay guest.

VISITOR SPENDING UP IN AUGUSTA
Visitors to Augusta spent more than $439 million in 2011,according to visitor spending data recently released by the Georgia Department of Economic Development. The spending in 2011 was up 8 percent over spending in 2010. This increased visitor spending saved Augusta residents more than $29.12 million in local and state taxes. “We knew 2011 was a good year and these numbers confirm that,” said Barry White, president and CEO of the Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB). “In 2011,for the first time Augusta sold more than one million hotel room nights.” Another example of the strong tourism industry in Augusta is the construction of new two hotels. “Developers invest where the bottom line makes sense,” said White. Augusta not only grew in tourism expenditures by visitors,it also saw an increase in tourism related jobs in 2011. Approximately 4,300 individuals were employed in the tourism industry in 2011. The Georgia Department of Economic Development research is available at MarketGeorgia.org. Mr. White will present the impact of tourism today at the Augusta Rotary luncheon meeting at Noon. The luncheon is being held at the Enterprise Mill Events Center at 1450 Greene Street

There is no way the Augusta Mall is a quarter mile away from that new hotel... Chili's is probably a quarter mile away.

Hope their hospitality is better than their geography!
