I don't understand such a rationale in 2012.
They are part of the UNC System but are stand alone universities. So if you attend UNC-Greensboro your diploma will say that.

I'm aware of that; it's the same with the USC system. I don't understand the relevance of that to the point I was making though.

GRU forum focuses on athletics, campus life | Mobile Augusta

ASU Athletic Director Clint Bryant said the new university will offer several new sports, including rowing, swimming, men’s soccer and equestrian competition. Football, at the moment, is too costly, with $1.5 million needed for scholarships alone and $2.5 million per year in operating costs.

What Azziz is talking about is having branch campuses of GRU across the state that are part of GRU. UNC-Greensboro and others should be thought of as a different school from UNC-Chapel Hill. In other words, what Azziz is talking about is not the same as Chapel Hill and the other schools in the UNC system.

Adding other sports won't help that funding gap. If Azziz wants his school to take off, he should add football. I don't get that guy. He wants all this expansion and adding 8 campuses across the state but football is just too expensive?
