I personally liked the Columbia Mall a lot better than Augusta. I wouldn't say either were particularly nice compared to what I am used to, but the Columbia Mall had cleaner people and I didn't feel like I was in danger of being robbed.

Don't really care about any of the other stuff listed. Seems like it is listed in every thread on here and is just redundant.

Were would Columbia be without Fort Jackson? What if Columbia wasn't the state capital?

I have been to both cities as well and wasn't really impressed by either, but Columbia did seem greener, cleaner and friendlier. In regards to what other posters are saying about military bases, both cities would likely be struggling to survive withouth the military presence.

back somewhat on topic, looks like plans for a Bass Pro in Augusta are pretty much dead. They are building stores and Augusta is not on the list and considering that are building one in north georgia and florida my guess is that the plan is completely gone now

Hope it's sooner rather than later, the Regal Augusta Exchange is so packed virtually every night you have to get there at least an hour before show-time to get in, even if you pre-order tickets online...

I know is bad, I have been to the NCG in Peachtree City with friends and it was nice ,there are no lines outside, you buy your tickets and popcorn at same place on the inside and the tickets were cheaper than Regal and you get FREE refills on all drinks and popcorn no matter what size, I looked up there web site and apparently they do that at everyone of their theaters I cannot wait to see them come to our town
