The Augusta mall was already the most upscale mall in Georgia outside of metro Atlanta.

I love when the posters from Greenville come into the Augusta forum. They can't pick on Augusta similar to Columbia, because we have the majority of national retailers..

The Haywood mall in Greenville and the Augusta mall were comparable, but not anymore. Augusta mall is now the most upscale mall in the state of South Carolina(Augusta MSA)...

H&M, Stride Rite, & Micheal Kors coming soon. The House of Hoops/Victoria Secret Pink stores are under construction.

Well, yes....Greenville can't pick on Augusta as much. But it does make me wonder if BPS and Cabela's is going to set up shop in Columbia because of the size of the stores in Augusta. I'm wondering if there will be brands offered in Augusta that isn't offered in Columbia and vice versa. Also, this is not the time to gloat. Knowing my former city's track record, I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of these stores fall through and if they do they are going to let you have it Nort.

Augusta is in Georgia; it's not in South Carolina. What are you talking about?

And if you're going by MSA, then you'd still be wrong. Charlotte's MSA includes three SC counties and Augusta Mall can't hold a candle to SouthPark.

This isn't going to do anything but further fuel the Greenville vs Augusta debate.

Why is that even considered a relevant debate? The two cities do not share the same regional population or infrastructure and rarely (if ever) compete economically.

It is easier and much more sensible for Greenville residents to visit SouthPark in Charlotte, which is just across the NC/SC border.
