Are we more associated with Savannah or Augusta ? I know the concensus is Savannah, but the more i think about it, the more things that i see that indicates that we could be alot more associated with Augusta than what people may think. LOCAL SPORTS: Region 3-AAAA richmond academy Glenn hills heziphah 'statesboro' ect. CSRA SCHOOL CLOSING/ICE STORM: richmond burke jenkins emanuel statesboro.. U.S. DISTRICT 12 JOHN BARROW:AUGUSTA AREA. Statesboro included. MEDIA COVERAGE: ARTS EXIBITS STORY: Statesboro included: Betty foy sanders department of GSU, also Louiville ga included VA CLINIC OUTPATIENT FACILITY: Augusta based. I know savannah is closer but.....

I think part of that is because Statesboro is located between two metros so it gets benefits for being closer to both. People from Statesboro travel to both but moreso Savannah since it's closer. The Georgia Southern Students probably also prefer Savannah due to the beach and due to the better night life downtown etc.

Yea it does have certain benefits that comes along with being under two metros. But some towns i noticed(i was talking with someone earlier this week) like swainsboro, has a 478 area code but they are a lot closer to augusta than macon ! Strange !

Louisville, ga is like that too. The weird thing is Wrens, GA which is in the same county as Louisville has a 706 area code.

Allendale and Bamberg both are part of the Augusta tv market. Part of Allendale can pick up some of Savannah's channels over the air which is probably why they may cover them as well. Same for Bulloch..it is part of Savannah's tv market but can pick up some Augusta stations over the air as well.

For some reason i used to think that orangeburg was a media market until me and some family member went their a couple of months back and discovered that it wasnt a large city. Thats what i intially always thought. just hearing the name 'Orangeburg- sounded like a bigger type city(august/savannah ect) but it isnt. I thought at the time that maybe orangeburg carried bamberg news, but i was wrong
