I'm glad he is leading in the race for mayor. IMO he seems like the only candidate has a good chance of making a positive difference for Augusta. Also I'm surprised to see that SPLOST 7 seems to have a good chance of passing, considering all the negative comments posted about it at the Augusta Chronicle website.

I am still undecided. I do know I am NOT voting for Cummings or Myles. I'm leaning towards Davis or Adams.

I'm surprised to see Mason so low, granted I'm not a fan of the man, I thought he would be higher up. IMO he is part of the problem with the current commission.

How can somebody from another city in Georgia(Columbus) know everything about what's happening in Augusta just by reading the comments posted on the Augusta Chronicle? The people commenting on websites don't even have to live in Augusta.. I'm not voting for Alvin Mason during this election but I do think he would make a positive difference in Augusta..

I respect all of your comments, but many times your comments portray that your actually really familiar with Augusta..

I apologize if it seems like I try to portray that I'm from Augusta. I just want the best for all of Georgia's cities and I truly believe that Augusta has the potential to be truly something special over the next few decades.

I can see this going into a probable runoff between either Hardie Davis and Helen Blocker, or Hardie Havis and Alvin Mason. Cummings, while having business experience, demonstrates an unfound faith in the bus system to bolster tourism. I can't get behind Myles (appearingly self serving) vision for a mayor's mansion.

Don't think Mason has a shot at this point. He's in a very distant third place. Davis and Blocker will likely be in a runoff.

DISCLAIMER: I do not live in or vote in Augusta, but I do work in the Medical District and have vested interest here, lest anyone assume...

But he is right about the comments in the AC. They are very negative concerning SPLOST (and pretty much anything of significance). Fortunately those small minority of AC commenters don't reflect the views of the entire city.

My comment had nothing to do with him being right or wrong in relation to the comments in the AC.. My comment was pertaining to him reading them and somehow thinking the comments reflect the views of the majority or the current reality of Augusta.. The majority of people commenting in the AC don't even live in Richmond County..
