Should break ground this month. The name might have changed to Riverwatch 12.

80,000 SQ. FT
2nd largest theater in the CSRA (behind Regal 20)
First theater with enclosed restaurant
First theater with in-theater dining

Should begin to see additional businesses join Cabela's, Costco, and Riverwatch 12.

So how long before Regal 20 becomes a dollar theater?

Doubt that would happen. The other newer theatre won't even be as big as the often overcrowed Regal so it wouldn't be big enough to capture all of the regals business.

Yes it does. Any of the theaters that closed (or downgraded to a dollar theater) was because one that was much larger was opening. This theater isn't larger than the Regal and can't hold the capacity the Regal has so it won't be able to run it out of business.

The theaters are only separated by around 5,000 SQ. FT. between them. The theater still wouldn't close down or become a dollar theater even if it was larger. because it's two different companies..

Regal 12 became a dollar theater, because Regal built a much larger and newer theater in the Augusta Exchange.

It's bad enough the Augusta forum doesn't have the same amount of activity, but it's getting worse every day. I don't post on here as much and some people have left for good. Can't even create one thread with out somebody trolling. Plenty of threads in the Georgia Forum like the best downtown in ten years thread were you can troll and make things up about Augusta.

How??? What large theater closed here in the area? None. The closest we had to a large theater with more than 4 or 5 screen closing was when Regal relocated and built the bigger theatre. All of the other theaters that have closed had 3 screens and ultimately their lack of screens is what actually did them in IMO as Regal could show almost any movie while they could only show a few at at time.

Augusta Exchange and August West are owned by the same company. They built the larger theater a few miles away and made the older one a dollar theater.

Moderators can we please delete this.. This is getting completely off topic and has nothing to do with the Village at Riverwatch..

The surrounding area has a high enough median income to support two theaters, as well as enough people. Maybe you forgot Augusta has a metro area or something. There are surrounding neighborhoods of 100,000+.
