Good news. Great time to launch as well. This makes Augusta the third city with uberX services in Georgia.

Ride-hailing platform Uber uncharted territory for Augusta | The Augusta Chronicle
Some good information. It's good to know that Uber’s general manager of expansion, said the Augusta launch “surpassed expectations” and the service is undoubtedly here to stay. The coverage area is currently the densely populated areas of Aiken, Richmond, and Columbia counties, but could expand. He described cities similar to Augusta, Columbia, and Charleston as perfect fits for Uber's business model.

Resurrecting an older thread.

My car was in a shop. I needed a ride. Used the Uber app. Worked like a charm!
The driver told me that there are about 50 other Uber cars in the area.

Give it a try. Much better than calling a cab.

Thread resurrection, part 2 😎. How's the Uber service working in Augusta? Are drivers available late night on weekends to ferry people home safely from the Broad Street (and other area) bars? Other communities seem to have experienced a drop in DUI rates after Uber launches. I lived in the CSRA for many years and played in a few local bands, so I know this used to be a problem for a lot of folks. Has service in Augusta expanded to Aiken as well?

To answer your last question all of Aiken County is included as well. Not sure if Uber has had an impact on DUI rate for not although that would be interesting to find out.
