Presorted first class junk mail from a Medicare company in Alabama is flooding mailboxes in the CSRA. Pay them and they will set up your Medicare benefits for you. If you've gotten their official looking letter you could possibly be getting set up for a scam. Give them your social security number and some money and they will fix you right up.
Best thing to do with this mail is cross out your name, address and the barcodes, write refused on the unopened envelope and drop in a mailbox.
Why? You can get all the Medicare info you require directly from the source without any sales pitches by calling the local security office. Free. And it's simple. And Medicare is mandatory for everyone at a certain age. You won't get rich from it and it will probably take a bite out of your Social Security check but it does mean well. So, why pay some company set up in a luxury office out of state to do what you can do in a few minutes for free?
A little common sense can save you money and stop possible problems like identity theft down the road.
You can refuse presorted first class mail and it will be returned to the sender at their expense.
