The Garden city fared better than Dallas, Baton Rouge and Memphis....

Quote:
Friday is "World Food Day," so the experts at WalletHub wanted to know which cities in America give you the most bang for your buck when it comes to dining out.

"For foodies with tight purse strings, good eating also requires smart budgeting. That's a necessary skill for anyone with strong taste buds, considering Americans today spend nearly 10 percent of their disposable income on food and nearly a third of every food dollar on restaurant services," said WalletHub's Richie Bernardo.

Still, it seems a lot of Americans simple can't afford to go out to eat.

That's why WalletHub researched dining options and prices in America's most populated cities and compared the results.

The only city in our area to make the list is Augusta. The Garden City is number 109 on WalletHub's "2015’s Best and Worst Foodie Cities for Your Wallet." That means it gets higher overall marks than Dallas (#110), Baton Rouge (#115) and Memphis (#121). Augusta's 109th rank is for its overall score, but the Garden City fared a little better than that in the "Affordability" category, where it jumps up to #103. Augusta earns its best ranking, however, in the "Diversity, Accessibility & Quality" category. Augusta comes in at #102.

As for overall scores, Portland, Oregon takes the top honor, followed by Orlando and San Francisco. Moreno Valley, California came in dead last.
