The growth outside Gate 1 and Gate 2 continues.. Equal distance to South Augusta and West Augusta. Let's call it Belair or Southwest Augusta until an official name appears. There's also plans for an large commercial development (over 20 acres)off Jimmie Dyess right outside Gate 1, but nothing on the table at the moment.

Shoppes at Dyess Park off Jimmie Dyess/Harper Franklin has broken ground behind Zaxby's(Pictured below).
14 acre commercial development planned for 723 East Robinson Avenue.
13 acre commercial development planned for 3011 Gordon Highway.

Haven't seen any plans for another Public in the CSRA. This area could potentially build an grocery store anchored center. The median income is over 60K.

Publix can easily infill with additional stores in existing markets. It could use additional stores in Augusta-Richmond County. Aside from the speculated store in the Grovetown community in Columbia County, I have not aware of plans for additional stores yet.

A 60,000-square-foot supermarket at Columbia Road and William Few Parkway has been speculated to be Publix.
