To say this is shocking is an understatement! The Morris family is essentially throwing in the towel on newspaper publishing and selling their pride and joy -- the flagship Chronicle. Wow!

The future does not look bright ... Billy Morris has basically sold his soul to the devil.

It seemed the direction of the content had shifted in the last six months or so... I cut them loose when they doubled my rate a few months ago...

Maybe they'll make their mind up on a commenting system now rather than changing it every few months. I, for one, will not link a Facebook account with personal information on it to comments on a news rag. Not to mention the fact that I can't even use that aspect where I use the paper the most anyway (lunch and other breaks at work) because Facebook is blocked.

I agree. I used to comment a long time ago but once they changed their TOS and system of commenting I just gave up. Also, the moderator would delete comments arbitraily that did not even violate TOS. Anyway they used to have a good system and there were lots of comments and regular posters. Oftentimes you could get more information from reading the comments than from the article itself. The point of having coments is that it brings people back to the site multiple times.. this in turn generates more hits and ad revenue.. but for whatever reason they decided to completely screw up their comments section.. because certain people don't like anonymous commenters on the interet. Hello?? They need to get in a time machine and go back to 1992.
