Sounds like an interesting idea.

City leaders in Augusta say they want to grow marijuana for medical purposes on city land. They want to do it on 600 acres off of Lovers Lane near the Nutrasweet Plant. That's almost 1 square mile of land.

Some city leaders say the profit will be seen in the money but also helping people.

Growing medical marijuana turns out to be quite popular among city leaders who want to farm uncharted ideas.

If you ask Rodney Creech, it's a good business move not just for the city but for the farming industry, a move he'd like to be a part of.

"People are going to follow the money, wherever the money is at, people are going to come," said Creech.
