Montclair and ravenwood are nice neighborhoods off pleasant home road. Spring lakes in a nice one off columbia road. And there are several nice areas off furry's ferry.

I really like West Augusta too. It's much closer to downtown, and traffic is easier to deal with.

Martiez and West Augusta neighborhoods are basically identical. West augusta just has more stores, resturants, and construction.

Question Traffic in Evans, Martinez, Grovetown?

I'm relocating to the area this year.

How is rush hour traffic? I've read about construction? Not sure where? How long?

Basically, which areas to stay away from:Evans, Martinez, Grovetown? Want Columbia County schools and homes ranging from $150K-$200K.

Thanks.

Rush hour traffic is bad everywhere in Evans, and that's because not only is everybody going the same direction at the same time, but they're doing so on the same roads (no real alternate routes) and on top of that the highway/insterstate access there is horrible.

Martinez and Grovetown are not as bad for traffic because both have good highway/interstate acces. Plus, your $150-$200k wouldn't go very far at all in Evans. Check out Magnolia Glen in Grovetown (north of I20) off Old Belair Rd on Magnolia Pkwy. Small neighborhood but very nice, with a neighborhood greenspace. Should be in that price range. There are also several new Grovetown subdivisions just south of Patriots Park, on Columbia Rd in that price range, like The Summit at High Meadows (one of the roads in there is called Great Glen). Also try Riverstone, which is in West Augusta off Stevens Creek Rd. near the end of Dennis Rd. No neighborhood park, but it's close to the Savannah Rapids Pavillion and Augusta Canal Greenway which goes from the Pavillion to downtown and is a popular walking/biking trail. You'd be just squeezing into that neighborhood at $200k.
