If anyone out there is still checking in on this post, any idea if this will bring some good attorney positions with the feds? My husband got a good job with SRS and we will be moving there in 2 weeks. It is a done deal already. I have a GA and TN license, and willing to take the SC bar only if I absolutely have to for some reason. Otherwise, I'm hoping to rely just on the GA license in private practice or better yet get a secure gvt. position. I just applied for a civilian Ft. Gordon position, but I have no clue how much competition I might be facing. I have limited experience and am basically at entry level. I did a 3 year clerkship at the state superior court level, but haven't worked in almost a year. I was waiting on my hubby to find a position to get us out of Atlanta, because I'd rather be beat in the head with a baseball bat everyday than spend the rest of my life in Atlanta. We now have half the equation solved--we are moving to Augusta to stay. But in this economy, I am concerned about my chances of getting a good legal job, especially in a smaller market like Augusta. Just knowing the jobs might be coming would help put me at ease. If I had to, I could do volunteer work for legal experience and maybe also a part time job just to pick up something in the way of an income, as long as I knew a better job was coming down the road.
