I'm a native Savannahian and the last time I was up Augusta way was in 1999 for a lacrosse game with the Aiken club team. Now that my memory lane has been traveled I'm coming to Ft. Gordon and honestly looking for a place that isn't full of folks in green. I'd like to have neighbors that actually stay and remind me of why I came back to Georgia. Yeah I know, some will chuckle about the lack of that in Columbus (my current location) or some mentalities in Augusta. Truth is I missed the South and fought like hell to get back here and apartment living in Columbus has stuck a thorn in my side.

I'm looking at Evans and Hepzibah mainly but even will consider Grovetown if need be. When you're in the Army and you get off work, you want to be away from all that. Plus I'm a single parent and have some needs that can't be met on post. Mainly, my son is in a the gifted education program here and can't get that entitlement if we live on post. I don't shop at the PX or commissary because there's not much of a price difference and the selection generally sucks compared to something like a Walmart or the new Whole Foods store I read about.

From what I've read Augusta seems to have grown leaps and bounds over when I was last there in '99 so I look forward to my move.
