We'll be moving to Augusta, GA around the last week of June from Bham, AL.
We have a 5 year old who will be starting her Ist grade come the new school year.
I wanted to reach out on this forum and solicit suggestions for best elementary schools. So far from what I have heard and found online Stevens Creek Elementary comes out on top.

What do you guys think? Where can I find some information on houses for rent that are in the Stevens Creek Elementary school zone?

Any help will be appreciated.

Real question is public or private?

Private I would go with Westminster Schools of Augusta

I made a list of the private schools, and I have links to the two major school counties websites

Schools in Augusta, Georgia l AugustaLiving.com

I think I read somewhere that Westminister is $10k per student. Is this correct?

Yes, roughly... Westminster Schools of Augusta (http://www.wsa.net/admissions/tuition_schedule.htm - broken link)

But there is financial aid available.

I have no reason to doubt this is a good private school. My money still goes for Columbia county. Better investment. Better public schools.

Lake forest Hills elementary in West Augusta. Is just as good as Stevens Creek in Martinez. C.T. Walker in downtown Augusta blows them both out of the water. When it comes to test scores etc. The best elementary school overall in the entire metro. Is C.T Walker traditional in Richmond county.

Augusta Christian is another good school.. A little more focused on athletics vs. academics (baseball and football, but also another good choice.

Don't you have to live in Richmond County to be able to send your kids to the C.T. Walker Magnet school?
My wife will be doing her fellowship and I will be looking for work in IT field once we move there. I dont think we can afford to send our daughter to a private school on a fellows pay.
Anyways, for just public school category would you guys recommend Steven Creek Elementary?
Also where would be a good place to look for renting a house which is in Steven Creek Elementary school zone?
