Also, I'm considering other established subdivisions in CC closer to Augusta. What older neighborhoods have held up pretty good? I'd appreciate any opinions of those who've lived in CC for a while.

If you are speaking of real estate prices... Rhodes Hill has held up remarkably well in this downturn. Home went on the market last month, and is now sale pending.

Actually, I was speaking more in terms of how the homes/schools/neighbors are for a family looking to move into any of the older areas of Columbia County. Some think of new neighborhoods as being "better," but I hate the treelessness and the cookie cutter homes in the affordable newer subdivisions. On the other hand, my husband is afraid of making a lateral move, where the neighborhood is taken over by renters and generally going downhill. We're trying to get away from that and need more info from those familiar with Martinez.

Thanks for the response though. It says a lot that the home sold so quickly.

Yeah, I am in the same school of thought that I like older neighborhoods. In Martinez particularly there are mainly newer neighborhoods, but I will think about it and let you know if I find something. I doubt there will be many neighborhoods built pre-1970s though.
