Perfect spot for Costco or Whole Foods. Costco announced in 2007 they were coming to Augusta. The store should be open by now.

Is there enough room in the Augusta Exchange for a Costco? I'm thinking the area around Wheeler Rd and I20 would be a good spot.. wasn't a strip mall planned for that area? I believe the land is even cleared for it. The area where the Carmax building is.

That makes since, and that gives time for the economy to improve. I would think Costco is probably seriously eyeing that spot. It has great access and visibility from I20.

A new restaurant with a whole lot of soul opened in downtown Augusta.

Caribbean Soul located at 873 Broad Street offers traditional Caribbean cuisine.

Cafe 209 moved to a larger building on the Riverwalk downtown. Rooster beak will open in its location.

A gourmet taqueria is set to open in August at 215 10th St., the former site of Cafe 209.

The Rooster Beak will serve lunch and dinner and will have a small menu featuring beef, pork, chicken, fried catfish and vegetarian tacos, sides, and salads with homemade dressings.

The restaurant will have a full bar and will seat about 60, with seating options that include high bar tables, a banquette and dining tables in a laid-back, intimate atmosphere. Outside seating also will be available.
