I know Thomson is under going construction. On the Thomson Bypass, a judicial complex, and residential projects. Some restaurants and retail have been built also.

Not all of downtown is showing signs of growth that why I named specific parts like Upper-Broad St. because of the Kroc Center and the White Building. Then, I named the Medical District because of the new student dorm coming, which feel will cause a domino affect in downtown. Watch, in a couple of years it would be trendy to live downtown.

I feel Edgefield County would benefit from the completion of 520 where it meets I-20. Its almost guaranteed that big development will happen there. With Edgefield getting ready to open up a new highschool its already showing early signs of growth.
Already starting to show signs in 2009. 95% of the new condos and lofts downtown are occupied. The whites building, granite mill, lofts on Broad etc. The woolworth, green building, and emporium condos construction. Downtown will be even more of a trendy place to live in the future.
