I'm moving to the Augusta area in late July. I'm trying to find a nice apartment or townhome around $1100 per month. I was thinking of the areas around Augusta State, Medical College, and Downtown.

There are two extremely safe close-in neighborhoods: Summerville and Forest Hills who can offer a "urban area with a city feel".

Olde Town is a nice neighborhood, with a restaurant La Masion in walking distance.

Artist Row is a very nice area too. Lots to do in that area, and lots of options beyond the immediate area. The area is too liberal for me. It's in a prime location.

Summerville/Hill, Olde Town, Artist Row, and Downtown are good choices.

Harrisburg is very nice between eve street and the Hill. The side btw eve street and 15th street has some sketchy areas. The Kroc Center, Broad Mill Village, and Martha Lester school will help gentrify this side of Harrisburg.

Laney Walker area btw walton way and laney walker. There has been alot gentrification recently(specifically around James Brown Boulevard/9th street). 300k townhomes with private elevators are now for sale.

Broad street is a great area to live in especially if you're working in downtown. There are so many different restaurants in Augusta. Everything that you could want is here. Augusta is a river city and great if you like the outdoors,.

Yes I agree, the Augusta Canal is great for any outdoor activity. There are events monthly at the Riverwalk also.

Downtown all the way. You can find more amenities in walking distance.
