I can run the clothes dryer and still keep my apartment cool enough to sleep in. My apartment actually got down to 72.

I feel a bit selfish, since Hurricanes cause so much grief to others. But it is not as if my liking them increases their occurrence.
Hurricanes also spawn lots of tornados and flooding far inland from where they make landfall, even here in Austin, so they do have a huge downside. We could experience some of that grief even here in central Texas.

ok,
Well I still like the effects of Hurricanes on my own personal comfort.
It is pouring now, I should walk over to the house I am buying and see how it is handling the rain (it has no gutters, that will be my first improvement).

As for my wishing for hurricanes;
if my power to wish for something, really had any effect, I would just wish for cooler weather here, without any negative weather anywhere else.
I would also wish all the leaked oil back into the hole, and wish the hold plugged.

I have this memory of years ago, when the pope was visiting St. Louis in January.
Several people were praying for good weather, for his visit.
It turned out they had very awesome weather, almost unrealistically warm for January.
However, the same weather system which brought the wonderful weather to St. Louis caused major flooding in areas of the South (including Texas).
