There have been reports over the years. They typically are found along Brushy Creek...maybe using the creek as their path to somewhere else.

Thanks for the news of this. I hadn't seen it. We don't live in Round Rock, but live near land that I think a mountain lion could easily be drawn to, with the number of white tail deer we have and nature preserve acreage nearby. A mountain lion is wildlife that I am most fascinated by, yet it is also one of my greatest fears.

Wildlife we haven't seen in a long time are moving back into the city, no doubt. I see evidence of that in my own neighborhood.

wow, we back up to brushy creek in RRW, and I'd freak out if I seen a mountain lion while I'm hanging out in the back, which I do on a daily basis!

I wonder if this is attributed to them doing the creek bend extension, and the city clearing the land over by the stone canyon/oaklands sub..mmm.

Like HappyTexan, I've heard these reports of mountain lions in the outlying areas (typically west) of Austin. They are rare, but I recall maybe 4 instances that made the news over the past 10-15 years.

I saw one out here in Driftwood area last year. Everyone thought I was crazy until I showed them a report of one spotted near the Lady Bird Wildflower Center a while back.
