media market means nothing though. That is why I always laugh when Kidphilly uses it as a measure of metro size. My professor from New Mexico grew up watching TV stations based in Lubbock because that was the nearest big city.

it doesn't mean they have the connections that metros have tho.

Tons of high-rise development already in the works and more to come. Austin's Downtown is definitely going to be unrecognizable in a 4 or 5 years.

Yes. Why is this? San Antonio has a much higher population than Austin, but it doesn't seem to have half the skyscrapers Austin does.

That is what I thought.

Is Waco part of the Killeen-Temple metro now? When did it join.

I have heard Waco using the term centroplex recently, but not in conjunction with Temple and Killeen (those two have been using the term for like 3 decades now.
I have always thought of it as Waustintonio with Waco, Austin, and San Antonio. I listen to Waco radio stations in the morning since none of Austin's other than Sun seem to play music.

Centrioles is not a good name. Just like when they tried calling Dallas and Fort Worth North Texas, no one will know what they're talking about,

You are responding to a 5 year old post. Not sure they are even around these days.

No, I am still around.

And as for the question of why San Antonio is building like Austin, a city's population has NOTHING to do with the size of a skyline. It's pretty much common knowledge that San Antonio isn't begging anyone to build several very tall and modern skyscrapers like we're seeing in Austin, Dallas, or Houston. They're more apt to having a historic, low-rise skyline because it fits the way they set up their downtown area. That being more "pedestrian friendly" than anything.
