I just got done paying the fees because I was worried about getting pulled over and on top of it my husbands tags from CA had also expired. Next week DMV, and some more money.

I got a card in the mail saying we had 30 days to change over our tags and all that, but I got the card after we had been here 60 days. When I got an extra $500 laying around, I will probably go get our tags, registration, drivers license and inspection taken care of.

Ah, a gambler, I see. Hope you have a good story lined up if you should happen to get stopped before then . Some of the PO-lice around Austin don't take kindly to folks bucking the system. DW got stopped for not having her front tag installed--no other reason. I think I'd get ONE up to date...just so you could say, "Yes sir, occifer...my OTHER car just got here from NM; but, as you can see, THIS car was registered just as soon as we could get'r'done!

Well...I got my tags today. You won't believe this, but I had to pay an extra $10 fee to get my tags today. It was a total of $105. I'm furious. The taxes are so high in Wisconsin already. I can't wait to get to Texas.

In Des Moines, IA - 384.50 for 2005 Acura TL and 489.50 for 2009 Corvette. This is another reason to move to Austin...:-). I just paid for the Acura a week ago and will have to pay for the Corvette in Sep. Almost 900.00 for vehicle registrations in a matter of under 2 months.

Just think how hard it was to get from Wisconsin to Austin on a horse.

Don't ever move to Florida if you're whining about a c-note.
