The kids are spending the night at grandma's on Saturday, so the husband and I have a day/ night to ourselves. We were thinking of going to Driftwood and touring some wineries, and I've really been wanting to check out Damian Mendola's restaurant out there.

No hotels within a 20 min drive.
Not recommended. You might try to get past the B&B thing just for a night, theres B&B's nearby, they may even come get ya! There's even one in Driftwood but I can only go by the website at to what its like, never been past it. (

And BTW it is NOT Mandolas anymore, but rahter Duchman Family Vineyard, Mandola only runs the restuarant Lisana.. from what we hear its the same.. some sort of partnership split.

Duchman Vineyards is wonderful, as well as the restaurant. Dripping Springs has 2 vineyards-great wine & atmosphere!
