I've noticed people around here don't seem to sweat, (yes, I've been observing and really...it's a small sample). I go out and I'm like a freaking artesian well...non-stop, sweat pouring out. After about half an hour outdoors it appears I took a shower with my clothes on.

What's up with that? Are you all sweated out?? Do I have too much water or you not enough??

It drives my wife nuts....we all go out for a walk in the evening, and she leaves a trail of water behind her and I don't sweat a drop , never mind that she is in better shape than me. I think she just has a much higher base metabolism and just generates a heck of alot more internal heat. She is from the midwest, btw, and I am local, so maybe my metabolism tuned down for summer many years ago - sort of a reverse hibernation.

If it is over 100 then the AC in my car is not very effective. I will easily sweat through my clothes by the time I get home from work. If I am working outside I could easily fill Lake Travis with my runoff.

It's wierd, but you're right. I very rarely sweat outdoors, unless I'm running or really working out. I guess once you've been here long enough, your body just acclimates.

I've always wondered about that.

I have never been able to acclimate to a humid climate, and I sweat buckets in the summer in Austin, Houston, Dallas....and most other humid places.

Should we be sweating? Is it that hot? This summer seems mild.

I agree..one of the best summers yet.
I must say though the past few days I have felt the humidity..reminded me of when I lived in Florida..air so thick and you sweat just walking from your house to the car (I park outside). I much prefer the dry heat.

We sweat. Some of us just sweat better than others. I use it to make sweat rings on my old Stetson straw hats.

Even after tonight's rain I took I shower and I am about to bed down because it will be (as my mom said) sucky tomorrow son. She's right. Until the cold front arrives, tomorrow is sauna is your clothes day.

I spent the first half of my life in South Carolina, the second half in Georgia. I've never sweat so much(my students used to complain that THEY were doing all the sweating in their tennis lessons) as I have since moving here for the third half. I didn't care for 'dri-fit' type shirts before...now, that's almost all I buy. Sounds like a cotton pique shirt might be good for this weekend, then it's back to the 'fast-dry' clothing. Welcome to Texas!
