As an Aggie, I'm not sure that is possible.

Which credit union has the best on line bill paying options? A+ looks promising.

I've thought about jumping ship from my big national bank, too.

How's Amplify? They have an ATM in my office and they've been nice enough to keep it completely fee free to all users.

I have done business with United Heritage Credit Union for about 15 years. No cost to join. They are very good as well. Lots of branches to choose from as well. UHCU shares a policy with many of other credit unions here in town where your ATM transactions cost zero if you use one of the affiliated credit union ATM’s. I can talk to a human at UHCU if I need to as well.

I second United Heritage Federal Credit Union. It use to be Bergstrom Federal Credit Union, when the Air Force Base was still here.

I have been a member for 30 years.

I have not used the A+ on line billing options yet, but I have looked at what information is available and it looks like it has all the capability of the Bank of
America bill paying that I am currently using. I have not changed over simply because I already have so many automatic payments set up and converting would be a lot of work.

IBC seems to be okay for me so far, I've been using them for about nine months. I don't know if you would define them as "local", but they are just in Texas and Oklahoma.

There are a few banks and credit unions in Austin that offer reward checking. This is a free checking account that you can use like a savings account that pays high interest rates. No mega-banks offer these.

United Heritage Credit Union has been offering reward checking since 2007. R Bank in Round Rock is another one. There's a good survey of these for Austin @
Survey of the Best Checking Accounts in Austin Texas

Hope this helps.

I've been a member of Greater Texas Federal Credit Union (based in Austin) for 6 years now and I have never had any problems.
