I'm still not gettin it. Is "plantation shudders" some sexual term I've never heard of? Hence, Cptn's fantasy?
Sigh:

The OP asked: "Does adding ~Ranch~ to the end of a neighborhood's name increase it's perceived value?"

I replied: "Don't cha know, all REAL men have cowboy fantasies. A few cowgirls too."

Nothing I said had anything to do with plantation shudders.

What about "Biosphere Reserve"?? Isn't a "sphere" something kinda round that covers?

As a resident of Avery Ranch, A) I do like the name...and 2) I'm glad it was built on an actual ranch. I'd feel silly otherwise.
The new adjacent development is called 'Pearson Place at Avery Ranch', even though it is being built on the old Pearson Place ranch land. Mayhaps, this portends a trend toward using every type of descriptive to sell land and houses. Would it cost more to live in a 'place' and a 'ranch'?

There is Bauerle Ranch, and then there is the Estates at Bauerle Ranch. If you leave out the "Estates" part while talking to someone who lives there, they will correct you. I've overheard this comment a few times - apparently it's a big deal.

I think I might suggest that Onion Creek change their name to:
"The Estates at Onion Creek Ranch"

This re-branding tactic should add about $50K to the price of each house in that neighborhood.

Ok, I finally got it! Going for that bike ride must have cleared the sludge.

Jeeze, unbelievable! It was like a brick wall.

LOL nothing destroys a joke like having to explain it.

We should all go for a bike ride more often.
