Some of these prices seem kind of high. I don't have anyone here since we moved to Austin, but when we were in CA I was paying 75.00 every two weeks. That was for two woman who together took about 2 hours to clean my home.

I think you are getting ripped off. Ours is fully bonded, insured, legal residents and we pay 70 every other week. No one we know pays over 90 (almost everyone has a house cleaner in our cul de sac). We typically get 2 people and they are here for 2 hours. @10/hour that leaves plenty of margin for the company.

We have 2800 sq ft.

I personally do not pay $120 a week but I know many people who do! If you are starting new in our neighborhood that is the most commonly quoted rate. But this rate includes stripping the beds, washing the sheets, and re-making the beds. I noticed that many people quote rates that do not include linens or laundry, that might account for the difference.

Hi Austin97,

Could you PM me the company's info?
Thanks in advance!

We paid 80/visit for a lady that comes in by herself every other week, although we raised it to 90 after a couple years (guilty conscience and all). She stays between 3-6 hours, depending on what needs to be done, averaging around 4, I would estimate. Does the usual and also washes towels/linens. It is ~2400 sf house, but about 1/4 is unused and only need cursory attention.

Just curious, how do you know the workers are legal residents? E-verify?

Heh. I've always cleaned my own home, including the largish home I'm currently in. I'm kind of territorial like that.

However, with a second baby coming, this home is becoming too large to handle considering I also work a full time, stressful job. Hence, I am interested in the rates that CpRn and Austin97 are giving. They seem affordable to me, and I'd have the person clean the bottom of the house (2700 sq ft) and I could take care of the top.

CpRn, Austin97 can you please dm me the people that you use???

I love you guys to death, but unfortunately Im not willing to share my house cleaners - my wife would kill me if their rates went up or their availability went down because I rec'd them to strangers on the internet. I will find out who my neighbors use and post theirs.

Why do that when you can have illegals do it for a pittance? And a "pittance" it is when you consider travel and cost of living in this area. And how is one person or even a couple supposed to clean their McMansion in a reasonable amount of time and also have time for a superior looking, chemical-laden lawn in order to keep up with the Jones'?
