Today: Austin News, Weather, Sports, Traffic | KXAN.com

"EMS crews transported 11 children to the hospital after a Hillcrest Elementary school bus made a sudden stop Wednesday morning."

Ironically, our child asked us yesterday if we could provide transportation to/from school. Apparently the buses are overcrowded with kids unable to find seats, sitting on the edges of seats, hanging over the aisles, trying to support themselves by holding onto seats on both sides of the aisle.

I thought Hillcrest was DV ISD ... and DV ISD is worse than AISD when it comes to bussing our kids! Look at that mess in Austin's colony Austin Colony Addresses Del Valle ISD (http://www.myfoxaustin.com/dpp/top_stories/Austin-Colony-to-Address-Del-Valle-ISD-20100921-ktbcw - broken link)

@Creedmoor - You're right: it is DV ISD. It looks like both ISDs have bus (funding?) problems. Ex. Our AISD middle school buses have 3 kids per seat. Apparently, AISD middle school and high school buses can only have 2 kids per seat.

This is why I choose to drive my child to school ... I don't trust them!

I wonder what, if anything, will happen to the driver of that bus???
