I figured a good way to get some straight dope was to ask a Texas LEO. My question is first, his response is second.

Quote:
Basically the discussion revolves around a car driving in the left lane on a highway at exactly the speed limit. If another car comes up behind the first car exceeding the speed limit is it the law that the first car must move to the right lane assuming it is clear to let the second car pass? Is it unlawful to sit in the left lane at the speed limit and not yield to the driver exceeding the speed limit?
Quote:
If its just one car passing and the other car is doing the speed limit, I would say NO..

But if the flow of traffic is 75MPH and this vehicle is making cars move around him on the right lane, then the person could be cited for interfering with the flow of traffic...

You always see the road sign "slower traffic keep right" but most don't follow it...
So, I will admit that it looks like I was wrong that the car driving the speed limit in the left lane should change lanes for one car that wants to go faster in the left lane.

Which is precisely what I posted days ago:

That simply is not true, in both accounts. I totally agree with you and THL that in the opposite scenario, where the majority of drivers are obeying the speed limit and it's that one knucklehead who wants to stretch the legs of their souped up vehicle who comes up on you and starts weaving back and forth in the lane and flashing their lights is also breaking the law _and_ creating a hazardous situation.

You started it I found a really great icon of someone beating a dead horse but couldn't figure out how to import it.
