No surprise here..it seems the Austin film industry will always be a bridesmaid to Canada, NY, and LA, never the bride.

ABC cancels 'My Generation'

ABC cancels 'My Generation'
Ratings fell 31% to 3.9 million viewers for second episode

By James Hibberd

That's two.

ABC has canceled its documentary-style ensemble drama "My Generation" after only two episodes.

The network is halting production on the Thursday night drama series. What will take its place as the lead in for "Grey's Anatomy" is not yet clear.

After a poor premiere week opening, "My Generation" fell 31% for its second episode last night, to 3.9 million viewers and a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating.

The network's other struggling drama, Wednesday night legal series "The Whole Truth," is expected to get a third week at bat.

"My Generation" marks the second network series to get the axe this week, the first was Fox's "Lone Star." In addition to "Whole Truth," NBC's Friday night drama "Outlaw" is also on the bubble if it doesn't improve.

The only reviews I saw said it was awful...and since I don't go looking for reviews, the only reviews I ever see are ones that are about shows so bad that they are headline-awful.

Please, let me tell y'all...THE SHOW SUCKED. Like, it sucked wind. Trust me, I'm always very supportive of projects undertaken in my hometown, so I tuned into "My Generation" for its pilot episode. I seriously didn't even make it halfway through. They really didn't use Austin for anything hardly at all. And the acting was completely ****ing wooden, and the story was a bit contrived, and just...don't even get me started.

I also started to watch it, but turned it off before it even ended. Not surprised at all that it's gone so quickly.

I couldn't stomach Lone Star and My Generation sounded boring. Isn't Friday Night Lights still produced here?

No, Friday Night Lights is still on NBC. It's final season is airing now on DirecTV and on NBC in 2011.

Ah, my mistake. I had heard some time ago they were having a party in Austin for the filming of the "last episode", and I assumed that had already aired.
