I'm evaluating 2011-12 HS for my child who has been in a magnet program and will have finished 1yr foreign lang., Alg. I, and several classes that covered 9th grade AISD core classes. I'm concerned LASA is too rigorous (3-5 hrs/ night of work). We live SW, but considering Anderson High's IB program (great, but no bus service), and Austin High's 3 yr old Global Studies Program (no public presentations so far). Any advice regarding campus culture, motivation & skill of teaching staff, and teaching styles? Looking for a style that isn't straight from a textbook. Thanks.
