Hey all...I would like to know what the overall vibe is toward police officers in the Austin area? Also, does anyone know what areas are good to raise my family (3 kids: 9,7, 3)? I have looked at Round Rock area and Lakeway area...any other suggestions? Thanks a lot!!!

My neighborhood has a lot of police officiers. We live in Mayfield ranch. We used to have several Sherrif cars parking on our street.

Not much animosity toward police in general, if that is what you are asking. There have been a few cases over the last few years of 'lethal force' that have been questioned, but I don't think it is tainted the whole city toward the police. Generally, the APD has been run very professionally over the years, or at least that is my opinion .
