Hello,
Can anyone give me their experiences/opinions with either the Wimberley or Johnson City school districts? I have an Autistic son and would love information about their special education services as well.
Thanks!

I cannot recomment Katherine Anne Porter School enough.
www.kapschool.org/

My brother and sister both went here, and positively *loved* it.

My brother was thrown out of the Blanco highschool for having long hair... this was in *2004* for christ's sake.

KAP is a great tightly knit community, and a wonderful charter school.

Public schools in the hill country *suck*. Packed with small minded bigots and regressive morons. Some good teachers and kids, I suppose... but not enough to make me even send my kids there.

Wimberley is very anti-schools (most of the town are retirees that don't want to pay taxes to supports schools) and votes down every bond package even though the schools are bursting at the seams. The schools are very good but sooner or later the overcrowding will become a severe issue.
