Are there any realtors from Austin that could help me find 4-5 acres of land outside Austin?

I would love to have a lake or pond on the property.

And no covenants.

For under $60,000

don't you think that is less than market price--especially for live water

Maybe. I am flexible.

I did find 4 acres, for $59,900, in Sealy, Austin County.

I have no idea where that is at though.

Yeah Austin county is closer to Houston. The city of Austin, Texas is (mostly) in Travis county.

That's a little low, but not impossible if you're patient. I recommend checking in Bastrop County, Caldwell County, Hays County, maybe eastern Williamson or Lee counties.

i think it can be done. I purchased 20 acres within the austin city limits just a few years ago for 120K (around 183 and mlk).

Watch craigslist and trulia.com

There is one on hogeye road (manor, but still close to downtown) that is 12 acres for 115K.

There is one on del valle that is 10 acres for 75K, close to the airport

Just keep watching as deals do come up periodically and land is actually hard to sell so you can get a good price. Land loans are extremely difficult to get as well which reduces the demand.

you can find a lot of deals around 25 minutes outside of the austin city limits. There is a 30K property in bastrop on craigslist (4 acres)

That would be more like an exurb of Houston due west - past Katy. It has a small military industry - specifically BAE Systems. You will notice on the drive in with the armored carriers parked within view of I-10. Since the executive branch changed hands in 2008, the industry there has not faired well, and has been skipped over for contracts - many believe due to political reasons. This is probably why the land is cheap.. it's a product of the local economy, which will bear what it can bear.

I have never used Craigslist before. How do I find that property in Bastrop on there?

Thanks!
