Okay it is all set up. Middle of February we become citizens of Round Rock.

I need advice on "stuff".

Pediatricians, Doctors, Restaurants, Softball Fields, Little Leagues, etc.

Just looking for anything you wanta say about Round Rock. (We are north of of FM1431 if that helps guide advice)

Are you West or East of I-35? The only reason I ask is because if you're on the West side, you're better off using Williamson County Regional Park (technically in Leander, but very close to NW RR) on Sam Bass for softball and possibly little leagues. You're also better off going to restaurants in Cedar Park (in or near 1890 Ranch) or down Parmer. I do make it to the other side of Round Rock for a few things, but traffic tends to be heavier and normally it's much quicker to go the other direction.

Great Mexican food and margaritas - Morelia Grill on Hwy 79, east of 35.

Emergency (and specialty) Vet Care - Heart of Texas on Old Settler's Blvd (aka FM 3406) east of 35. 512-744-4644 Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center

Regular vet care (on recommendation from the oncologist vet): Forest Creek Animal Hospital Forest Creek Animal Hospital - Professional Veterinary Services for Round Rock Great, caring people!

Hair Cuts: Mandi Lange at Courtyard Salons (Hester's Crossing at 35): 512-341-4106. Has evening and weekend hours, and does great cuts/colors at a very reasonable price.

Other than that, and except for shopping in the Ikea, Wolf Ranch (in Georgetown) and La Frontera areas, we pretty much stay west of 35 in the 1431 and Cedar Park areas.

What other specific questions might you have?

Agree with the Morelia Grill recommendation. And the new location on Parmer near Avery Ranch is supposed to open by the end of the month.

Rio Grande is also good in Round Rock. I actually prefer the Hutto location as it has a nice patio and it's not far from Dell Diamond. The Round Rock Rio Grande location is in an old rundown stip mall while the Hutto locations is much nicer. The food is good at both. It's a good place to go before or after an Express game.

Well, at least we have El Patron on 1431 open! I see that Los Chilaquiles on S. Bell(near ACE) is open but we haven't stopped by. That is some kind of s-l-o-w build-out at Morelia . I'm hoping for some tasty carnitas IF they ever DO open!

The closest fields for you will definitely be Williamson County Regional Park and the new fields around Brushy Creek. If your kids are in LISD, more of their school friends would be involved in Cedar Park/Leander activities even though you have a Round Rock address. I'm not sure of the exact names of the youth leagues as my kids are still a little younger. You're very close to the Nitro Swim complex along with Soccer Zone. Both are indoor facilities.
