I don't think you "can" do this ... and certainly shouldn't

If you get new realtor, and say, "can you show me this house"
They ask abit "are you working with someone else, has someone shown
you that house?"

If they handle the paper work, and get you in the house, and negotiate
I think they are legally entitled to the commission....
And certainly if you went that far, stick with the person that showed
the house

But if the realtor can't close (some can't)
Or are no help with info
You do not want to be locked in for 6 months.
Isn't 3 the norm ?

Did you use a buyer agent back then? Or you went through the whole process solely by yourself?

I did a lot of homeworks, and I am pretty sure my target area is within our budget.

For your case, I would totally understand you were new agent to this city and need time to resume your business.

I was in a rental the first time so I used a realtor sans agreement to help me find a home in 2000. Year before last I used a realtor for both the buying and selling again with just a verbal agreement. What I didn't know at the start of the process is she only wanted 2% for selling my home.
