Charters are great and interesting concept and have produced great results so far.
That is pretty glossy rep for charter schools -- frankly I think too good--
some charters are doing well--but others are just scamming the state and parents--
they produce nothing but money for the people who organize and run them and frankly should be closed down asap--
the state is lax about doing that--for some reason despite evidence showing that these charters are cheating financially and educationally--
I am referring to ones in the DFW area specifically because those are the ones I am familiar with but I know that the propensity to take advantage of lax oversight on part of the state is alive and well in all areas of the state == not just DFW
