Many of you might be aware of the excellent local gardening program "Central Texas Gardener" that runs on the local KLRU PBS TV station. It provides excellent information on gardening and landscaping for this area.

You can also watch recordings of their program on your computer via the KLRU website:

Succulent Design with Eric Pedley | Central Texas Gardener | PBS Video

You can also watch many of the episodes on your computer via YouTube:

And I just learned that if you install the FREE Apple iTunes application on your Mac or PC, then you can subscribe and/or download any of the programs you like onto your computer to watch anytime.

There are also thousands of other free movies and podcasts available on iTunes.

Good information that can change our planting habits, like not to plant Kudzu. From an article in the latest National Geographic, March 2011, "Kudzu, a fast-growing vine, has smothered millions of acres in the United States since it was planted in the 1930's to control erosion. Exotics spread by humans are a global threat to biodiversity. Most of the species on the U.S. threatened and endangered lists are there in part because of foreign invaders." Alien Invaders, William Christenberry.

I have a couple of things I need to control in my garden.

Sorry for the shameless bump for the show.

Excellent post. I'm more or less starting from scratch in my yard and want to attempt xeriscaping, so a marathon viewing session is definitely in my future.
