We have used Christianson for years and have been very happy. We just had a water heater go out recently and had them replace it. They were very upfront about price (cost of labor, cost of meeting code, and cost of install broken out) and were very good about letting us know current code requirements, etc. Their costs were in-line with the smaller guys, but this was on New Years Eve and many a place could not get someone out for at least a day. On the flip-side, I think we called Fox, also, for a quote and they were waaaay higher, the guy that came out to give the estimate pretty much gave up when he heard we were shopping it around. He actually said "If there is anyone more expensive, I haven't heard of them". They were on a commission structure, it seems, with the cost based on what they think they can get. If I had know that, I wouldn't have even bothered to call them.

I'm going to vote for Westmoreland Plumbing. They're in Oak Hill but service all of Austin. I've used them on rental properties for years and haven't had to call them back for the same thing twice. Their rates are average to slightly below average and they do good work.
