In Austin, or Round Rock (suburbs)?

I am talking about good chicken shawarma, hummus, gyros, falafel .... that kind of thing.

Try Sarah's on Burnett. My wife and I have been there a couple of times
and love that place. Not a very formal place, but the food is awesome.
Plus you can buy Mediterranean groceries if you are brave enough to
try making it yourself, unfortunately, we're not that brave

Have you actually tried any of those - or are they just based on a google search? Just wondering if one was better than the other?

Thanks for the suggestion PDX!

I haven 't tried it, but I've only heard great things about Ararat. You can read more about them and their address here. Ararat, 111 E North Loop Blvd, Austin, TX on Yahoo! Local The reviews there are mediocre, but as I said, I've only heard great things about it from those I knew who went.

Byblos looks good. The last Greek place I went to had falafel shaped like patties which I really don't like.

Sarah's on Burnet is really good. Also, Kismet right off the drag (24th right before Guadelupe) is really good. It's a tiny hole in the wall, but family owned, and they recognize people after years if they see you enough. Only thing about that is it's campusy, so parking sucks during class. But if you want to do quick pay parking or you snag a meter, definitely worth it. The kismet menu is kind of limited, being so small and catering to students, but it's really good if you aren't looking to branch out, just enjoy classic favorites.

Ararat is closed. They may reopen with a different owner but right now they are closed.
