We had our worst wildfire day in the state's history this past Sunday, and the immediate 10-day forecast does not look promising either, with some highs in the 90's and barely a chance of rain. Overall, it hasn't been a good start to the year so far.

Do you all think this will be the worst summer yet, or do you think it's temporary and will blow over when the tropical storms come rolling in this season?

pretty darn severe! Fort Davis nearly went up in smoke over the weekend. They've hardly had any rain since September. I'd be grateful for a succession of tropical storms this summer that broke the drought but I wouldn't count on it.

I can't really vote because I am not familiar with the history. I was very happy that I got some decent rain at my house last night but it has been several months since any real rain. My grass is not looking too good but with the high cost of water in Cedar Park I sure as hell am not going to water it.

I have lived here 8 years and the majority of those years, the central part of this state has been in a drought. The only flooding or decent rains I can remember were caused by a tropical depression or storm.

I predict a repeat of 2009, this summer will be very hot and dry, 100+ almost every day. The question is whether we get El Nino or La Nino starting this fall.

Already planning a trip to the beach this summer as I think the lake will start drying up where a lot of the boat ramps won't be available this summer like in 2009 so we won't get to use the lakes as much. Good thing about the Gulf, there's always water there!

Another thing, Schlitterbahn is planning a major expansion in New Braunfels, so we'll be spending some time there cooling off, but the float rivers (Guadalupe, etc...) won't be in good shape.
