I am looking for a road in the Cedar Park area with little traffic where I can drive 55 for about four miles without stopping and can decelerate from 55-20 without getting rear ended. When I lived south Mopac south of Slaughter at night was perfect for this.

Try Ronald Reagan Blvd north of 29.

Never mind - there's a stop sign at 3405.

I agree with Ronald Reagan but you could also try 183 north of 29

North of 29 would be in Leander, right? Is that two lanes each direction or one there?

183 north of 29 is fourlane 70mph but I don't think you'd get run off the road if you slowed to 20 since there are plenty of intersections along there where folks would slow to turn routinely. There's one traffic light along there but I don't know the mileage from 29...plenty of clear sailing farther north of that light, also.

If you make it to Lampasas, have lunch at Eve's ...great schnitzel!!!

some of 183 north of 29 is under construction so for a while no 70 mph. Its not Leander its in the Liberty Hill area. You might get smacked though if you slow to 20 and not pull over onto the shoulder now days.

I did a repair on my car and had to clear the codes. Generally no problem but I need to get the car inspected. You can either drive 100+ miles over several trips for all system to be seen as 'ready' or you can complete drive cycles that involve completing specific routines that test each system. Since this is just a weekend car for me and does not see any regular miles the second option is much easier provided I can find a road without traffic to annoy or mess me up.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. And for the info, in case I ever need it.

No problem. If you do need it in the future just Google your vehicle + drive cycle and you should be able to find your routines.
