Default What kind of spider was this?

It appears to be a Haitian Voodoo Spider. This spider’s bite is almost, but not completely, fatal.

Probably escaped from a private collection of exotic creatures left behind after a foreclosure. Be on the lookout for rare snakes, also

Next time get an empty jar and a piece of paper, put the jar over the spider so he is in it and then slide the paper underneath. Turn over the jar so the spider falls to the bottom and then take it outside and dispose of the insect without killing it. There is no reason to squash them. As insignificant as they are to you, they are living beings just like you and they are beneficial (eat other stuff like roaches, flies etc.).
